Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd (Bank Rakyat) declares 18 percent dividend to its members for financial year end 31st December 2012.

The dividend comprises two parts. A cumulative of RM330 million will be paid in cash, and the remaining RM55 million will be offered in the form of bonus share. A total of 947,541 Bank Rakyat Co-operative members will be enjoying the dividend.

Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd (Bank Rakyat) declares 20 percent dividend to its members for financial year end 2011 or RM435 million.

The dividend comprises two parts. 15 per cent or a cumulative RM330 million will be paid in cash and the remaining 5 per cent totalling RM105 million will be offered in the form of bonus share.

Last month, Bank Rakyat received an approval from Bank Negara to increase its share capital by additional one billion units to three billion units. Cooperatives and Bank Rakyat members will be given priority in subscribing to the new shares.

Currently, there is a long waiting list for the share subscription with the demand value exceeding RM1 billion. High demand for the Bank Rakyat shares is due to its excellent performance. Bank Rakyat manage to maintain 15 percent annual dividend since 1999.

Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd (Bank Rakyat) declares 15 percent dividend to its members for financial year end 2010 amounting to RM294.9 million. This was announced during press conference to announce bank’s financial results.

During the same period Bank Rakyat registered a 10.8 per cent increase in pre-tax profit to RM1.72 billion from RM1.55 billion the previous year.

Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Bhd (Bank Rakyat) , the country’s only cooperative bank announce that they will considering lifting a five-year freeze on accepting new members as part of plans to raise RM500 million in extra capital.

However, the priority will be given to the existing members to increase their investment in Bank Rakyat. Bank Rakyat will seek shareholders approval for the capital increase at its annual general meeting in April 2010. For those who eagerly waiting for this opportunity, please remember this date.
